CBSE FAR EAST ZONE YOGASANA STARTS AT DELHI PUBLIC SCHOOL, TEZPUR
Delhi Public School, Tezpur proudly hosted the first-ever CBSE Zonal Level Yogasana Competition 2025 in Tezpur.The event, held on 20th August 2025, was conducted under the aegis of the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE).It provided a prestigious platform for young athletes to demonstrate their skill, discipline, and sportsmanship in the ancient art of yogasana.
The inaugural ceremony was graced by experienced officials appointed by CBSE and the Assam Yoga Association. Among the distinguished guests were Mr. Ashok Dhawan, Yoga Expert(Retd.) from Delhi and an eminent personality known for his outstanding contributions to Indian sports as Observer and Mr. Prabhat Chandra Bora, Vice President of the Yoga Federation of India and recipient of the Government-recognized National School Games Certificate as technical delegates.
A team of experienced judges officiated the various competition categories, ensuring fair evaluation and a high standard of competition.
The ceremony began with a warm welcome extended to all dignitaries and officials. A total of 57 schools from CBSE’s Guwahati and Bhubaneswar Region participated, with over 350 young boys and girls showcasing their yogasana talents with great enthusiasm and discipline.
The program featured a ceremonial team walk, symbolizing unity and the collective spirit of the sport, followed by a mesmerizing Yoga Dance performance by the students of Delhi Public School, Tezpur—an artistic expression of flexibility, grace, and strength.
The event was formally declared open by Mr. Pankaj Yadav, Principal, DPS Tezpur, while Mr. Dhanveer Singh Arora, Dean, DPS Tezpur, also graced the occasion with his presence.
Thereafter, the Principal addressed the gathering withinsightful and motivating words. He congratulated the participants, emphasized the importance of holistic well-being through yoga, and encouraged the young athletes to continue striving for excellence.
